Volkl DNX 8

Volkl DNX 8  The DNX 8 is Volkl's exciting new tweener frame for 2006. DNX is a proprietary form of graphite which was developed by Volkl and the German equivalent to MIT (Fraunhofer TEG) What does this mean to you? For me, this material adds torsional stability and a crisp feel. Because DNX is only added to key points on the head of the racquet and in the yoke (just above the grip), the frame is stronger, but not necessarily stiffer. I feel this translates to a more solid feeling frame with great spin potential. While spin is mostly an operator function, I feel a more torsionally stable racquet is better able to transfer energy back to the ball, which can only help with generating spin. With a 100 sq. inch head and a 10.4 ounce unstrung weight, many will draw comparisons to the Babolat Pure Drive (or Wilson nPro Open, Head Flexpoint Instinct or Prince Shark/Shark Hybrid). While these are valid comparisons on paper, for me the feel is much different. Part of this may be the shock absorbing handle system present on all Volkl racquets, but I do think DNX imparts a unique, livelier feel. This racquet is well suited for a wide range of ability levels and should appeal to those with a moderate to full length swing. In addition to appealing to many ability levels, at $159.95 strung, the price is certain to appeal to many people as well. Stop by today to demo a DNX 8 to see if it's right for you. [more]

Wilson Shoe

The Tour is one of Wilson's new performance shoes for 2006. What sets this shoe apart is that it's lightweight and breathable , but it's also well cushioned and very stable. The upper is perforated leather and mesh and quite comfortable mostly because of the lack of excess material. Because of Wilson's DST3x cushioning in the heel and cushion core inserts in the heel and forefoot, the Tour has plenty of cushioning for those long hours on court. This shoe has great arch support, a perfect flexpoint, a slightly wider toebox and an excellent liner material to help with moisture management. In addition, there is plenty of rubber on the outsole and excellent toe drag protection. For those of you who really burn through shoes, this should be a good option, as Wilson offers a 6 month guarantee on the outsole. Come visit RMRS to try on a pair of this exciting new offer from Wilson. [more]
